Events

Public Event - is a quarterly event that aims to promote the Lab, ByFy, YAP and Design Center projects. In addition to the active involvement of young people directly engaged with the activities of the Lab, these events also include members of the donor communities, partner NGOs, media and other partners as a means to profile and celebrate the success of the Lab and, more importantly, the team leaders and members themselves.

Innovations Cafe - as a non-formal bi-weekly event, it provides a venue for all ByFy project leaders and team members, as well as other young people and partners to get together and discuss potential project ideas, organize brainstorming sessions, watch short inspiring videos and share good practices.

Blogging Meet-Up - is held on a monthly basis and is open to all. The aim of this event is to improve civic journalism and raise public's awareness to different social issues. A topic is launched at the beginning of the month and youth will be engaged to blog about it in either Albanian, Serbian or English. The blog posts will be published on the Innovations Lab’s website and the best blog(s) will be published in one of Kosovo’s daily newspapers.

Innovative Girl’s Day - is dedicated to women to engage them with the Lab activities and increase gender balance. Young women will have the opportunity to raise problems and challenges that Kosovo’s women are facing, as well as to brainstorm towards potential campaigns and project ideas. This event hosts various successful and inspiring women, to share their good practices and successful experiences.

Tech Talk - is a series of evening seminars about technologies, software, social media, and open source applications. It is designed to facilitate interaction between interested young people and experts. The objective is to increase their capacity to use and apply it within the local context in future.

Digital Bootcamps - structured as both mobile and on-site intensive multi-day workshops providing an accessible introduction and overview of existing Web 2.0 technologies and digital advocacy tools to specific target groups. Participants will include members of the local press corps, Youth Officers, Local Youth Action Council leaders, and youth from vulnerable and marginalized communities.

Socio-innovative Events - aim to increase youth participation and professional readiness in Kosovo by bridging the growing communities of young local social entrepreneurs and youth activists and community advocates, and a growing international network of IT and software development experts that can support and amplify their efforts. Such events include the first-ever Kosovo Innovation Camp and Random Hacks of Kindness.
